Vibro
Vibro-Crystal Verification is an event from Genshin Impact version 3.5 that will task players to clear floors of mobs to gain rewards. This guide will help you start the event, as well as provide tips for clearing each Vibro-Crystal Verification challenge, and provide information on the rewards to be earned.
Vibro-Crystal Verification is a combat event that requires two teams and will have trial characters available for all players. This event features an engineer from Fontaine on a quest to prove that his colleague's research isn't a fraud. For that to be completed, he asks for your help and now you're here defeating monsters and testing out the crystals on his behalf.
Each crystal will have a category of either a receiver or a transmitter. A receiver will give you the buffs only if a certain condition provided by the transmitter is fulfilled and the only way to test that is through battle! The battle phase of this event will have two floors each and your goal is to defeat all of the mobs on the floor during the time limit.
Newer players will also have a chance to participate as the event will provide trial characters for them to use in case they don't have enough built characters to be able to enjoy the event. Each team will have their own "harmonics" which are a set of buffs made by connecting the receiver and the transmitter crystals. This means that you would want to build your team around those buffs to make sure you're gonna have a smooth time.
There are six challenges in all, with a new one unlocking each day until all six are available, and we've listed basic information about each challenge (and some helpful tips) below:
In order to take part in the latest event, you’ll need to fulfill two conditions:
Unlike the previous event, Windblume's Breath, there is no quick start if you don't meet all the requirements. If you do fulfill both requirements, accept the Vibro-Crystal Reharmonization quest in your journal, and follow the quest marker to southwest Liyue, to the Harmonics Research Facility. Speak to the mysterious man in the field by the doorway to unlock the event activity, then interact with the door to begin.
This door is your gateway to the daily challenges of Vibro-Crystal Verification. It allows you to pick which challenge you want to try, in addition to allowing you to pick a difficulty and configure your crystals and parties. You also need to create two sets of teams and crystals, because you’ll switch over to the second team halfway through the challenge, so you’ll be unable to rely on one or two characters for the whole battle. This can seem a bit daunting at first but with a little practice and this handy guide you’ll have a better chance at earning all the rewards for the event.
While there are three Receiver Crystals for each challenge, it's important to note that you don't actually need to use all three! You can link a Receiver (buff) Crystal to any number of Transmitter (trigger) Crystals, from zero to all three! Additionally, the more Transmitters you link to a Receiver, the more powerful the effect can become. This is especially handy if you find that a Receiver Crystal is providing a bonus that you wouldn't benefit from, i.e. earning a charged attack bonus when you rarely use your characters’ charged attacks.
The first challenge is focused on the elemental reaction Vaporize, which occurs when an enemy is afflicted with the Hydro and Pyro effect concurrently. The special effect for the challenge creates a damaging shockwave originating from the Vaporized enemy. Appropriately, the Crystals are themed around Vaporize and Pyro damage, so your team should be tuned to triggering or benefitting them as much as possible. Your trial characters for this challenge are Yoimiya, Hu Tao, Yun Jin and Xingqiu.
Out of the three Receiver Crystals, I benefited least from the Charged Attack boost, so I instead doubled up on Mighty Receiver, which boosts your characters’ Attack stat. Depending on your team or playstyle, you may benefit more from different Receiver Crystals, so experiment and keep in mind whether you'd benefit more from a normal, charged, or Pyro attack damage boost.
While some enemies are permanently afflicted with Hydro (especially in the first half,) others aren't so you’ll want to bring along a Hydro character or two to create more opportunities to Vaporize opponents. Luckily, you’re given access to a quartet of trial characters, so Xingqiu can fill that role for one of your two squads.
Yoimiya works very well in the first half, where she can activate her Elemental Skill to turn all of her normal attacks into Pyro attacks. This allows her to mow down the various Hydro creatures that spawn during the first half of the challenge. This specific action activates all three Transmitter Crystals, so you can potentially earn a massive damage buff. If you have Barbara or another Hydro character, they can set up Yoimiya to Vaporize non-elemental enemies.
The trial Pyro characters, Yoimiya and Hu Tao are also very useful for triggering Vaporize and they benefit greatly from any attack buffs granted by Receiver Crystals. If you already have characters you prefer, feel free to use them, but keep in mind you don't need to make two full teams, two or three characters per team are also allowed.
For the second half, using Xingqiu's Elemental Burst together with Hu Tao's Elemental Skill allows every one of her attacks to strike with both Hydro and Pyro, triggering Vaporize repeatedly, and once again triggering all three Transmitter Crystals. While you can earn 2x or 4x points playing on harder difficulties, using this set up can get you enough points for all three reward tiers.
The second challenge of Vibro-Crystal Verification is focused on Swirl, an elemental reaction that occurs when Anemo mixes with any of a number of other elements, such as Pyro or Electro. The special effect increases your Critical Hit % when you trigger a Swirl reaction. As with the previous challenge, your Crystals are triggered by Swirl reactions, dealing Anemo damage, and they can increase Anemo damage as a result. Your trial characters for this challenge are all Anemo users: Wanderer, Kaedehara Kazuha, Faruzan and Sucrose.
While there are less elemental enemies in this challenge, it's still wise to spam your characters’ Elemental Skills. Since you get 4 Anemo characters, you really don't need to bring anyone else along, unless you have your own characters you’d rather use. Due to the Critical Hit % buff, any of the three Receiver Crystals are viable to use this time, so experiment with different combinations to discover what works best for you.
For this battle, we recommend splitting the trial characters into teams of two, Wanderer and Faruzan in the first half, and Kazuha and Sucrose in the second. As Wanderer, you should be using your Elemental Skill: Song of the Wind whenever possible, this converts all your attacks into Anemo. His Elemental Burst should be saved for when a fresh group of enemies appears, as it can wipe them out in a single blow. The Receiver Crystal that increases Critical Damage is very useful here, since Wanderer will largely be using normal attacks during Song of the Wind.
Since you have many Anemo characters at your disposal, it's useful to swap to one that can use their Elemental Burst, like Sucrose or Faruzan, then swap back to your main damage character. This allows their Bursts to persist and ensure you’re always dealing Anemo damage and triggering potential Swirls. The score requirements are the same as the first challenge, so you want to be close to 1000 points by the time you switch to the second half if you want to earn all 3 tiers of rewards.
For the second half of the fight, assuming you’re using Kazuha and Sucrose, you’ll be swapping characters more frequently. While attacking with Kazuha, remeber to always follow up his Elemental Skill: Chihayaburu with a plunging attack for extra damage. His Elemental Burst: Kazuha Slash will create a damaging whirlwind around the player, limiting where enemies can go without taking damage. Sucrose's Elemental Skill pulls enemies together while inflicting Anemo damage, so following it up with a charged attack or her Elemental Burst can take out a new group of enemies immediately. Receiver Crystals that increase Anemo damage or Character Attack can work very well in this second round. As with the previous challenge, using these tips and some practice will net you over 2000 points even on Normal difficulty, netting you all the available rewards.
The third challenge of Vibro-Crystal Verification is Warmth Observation, which is all about the various elemental reactions associated with Pyro: Vaporize, Overload, Pyro Swirl, Burning and even Burgeon! Damaging an enemy with any of these will lower their Elemental Resistance by 60% which allows you to finish them off quickly. This challenge provides a diverse group of Trial characters: Dehya, who uses Pyro, the Electro user Raiden Shogun, Dendro user Yaoyao and Xingqiu, who uses Hydro. While their skills will be helpful, it's going to be difficult to hit 2000 points unless you have another Pyro character to trigger further reactions.
If you have more characters that can set off the appropriate reactions, it's worth it to bring them along just to use their Elemental Bursts. Their utility in setting up or setting off Reactions is worth it, even if you swap off of them immediately afterwards.
The first half of this fight will be especially tough for racking up points because enemies tend to spawn in slower, even when you’re taking down waves as soon as they spawn in. Characters with persistent effects, like Lisa's Elemental Burst or Dehya's Elemental Skill, will make it easier to trigger the "Character swap" Transmitter Crystal, and any of your melee characters will likely be taking damage, activating the "Character damage" Transmitter Crystal. With all the potential characters to use for this challenge, focus on the Receiver Crystals that will benefit your specific teams the most. With the Elemental Resistance debuff from this challenge, it's definitely worth using the Elemental Burst or Elemental Damage Receiver Crystal.
As mentioned above, characters like Lisa or Xingqiu can use their Elemental Burst, then swap to a Pyro character, in order to activate two of your Transmitter Crystals and enable continuous Elemental Reactions. Dehya's Elemental Skill also establishes an ongoing field that deals Pyro damage so you have many options for persistent effects. Outside of the trial characters, it's hard to recommend specific characters because there are so many that can be used, so bring your strongest Pyro, Hydro, Dendro, Anemo and Electro characters.
A new day brings a new challenge, and today's is themed around the Elemental Reaction Quicken, which occurs when Electro is applied to a target with Dendro, or vice versa. Compared to yesterday's challenge, this one is a little more straightforward, with a 50% boost in Elemental Damage for any character that triggers Quicken. Your trial characters for this challenge are Electro users Cyno and Kuki Shinobu, Dendro user Nahida, and the Hydro user Xingqiu. Once again, you’ll need to bring at least one other Dendro user from your own pool in order to hit 2000 points for all the rewards, but the most important rewards are earned at the 500 and 1000 point tiers.
If you’re using the trial character Nahida, then it may be worth including a Hydro character as well, since her Elemental Burst and Skill is improved by having a Pyro, Electro and Hydro character. A Pyro character isn't vital, but you should be bringing an Electro character anyway. Cyno works well when paired with a Dendro Traveler, because the Traveler's Elemental Burst creates a persistent Dendro effect. Cyno's Elemental Burst converts all of his attacks into powerful Electro attacks, consistently triggering the Quicken reaction and increasing his Elemental damage.
Your Transmission Crystals are largely activated by normal and Elemental attacks, but your Receiver Crystals are largely focused on increasing your Elemental and Electro Attack. We found that multiple stacks of Abundance Receiver were redundant, since the Energy recharge was outpaced by Elemental Burst cooldowns, but if you have sufficient cooldown reduction it might be more useful than with the trial characters.
As mentioned above, your cooldowns will be outpaced by the Abundance Receiver Crystal, which gives your characters some extra energy recharge. However, character's like Chongyun and Raiden Shogun can lower your party members’ cooldowns, and since Raiden Shogun is an Electro character, she would fit in well for this challenge.
The penultimate challenge puts the Frozen reaction in the spotlight, which occurs when Hydro and Cryo are applied to the same enemy. The challenge bonus causes Frozen enemies to lose 60% of the defense until 3 seconds after their Frozen status ends. Luckily, you have 3 Cryo characters provided in the trial pool, Kamisato Ayaka, Diona and Layla. The fourth character is Hydro user Sangonomiya Kokomi. With these four you’ll be able to rack up several Frozen reactions and shred your opponents, and with the abundance of Hydro enemies in the first half, you have a higher chance at earning 2,000 points using only the trial characters.
Kamisato Ayaka works well in the first round, even if she's alone. Her dash applies Cryo to enemies around her wherever she stops, and her already high attack is massively boosted if you’re using the Shattering Receiver Crystal. Since there are many Hydro enemies in this first half, it's best to use her here, since you won't need to swap to a Hydro user and can focus solely on her attacks.
Your Transmitter crystals this time around are activated by using an Elemental skill, triggering a Frozen reaction, and attacking a Frozen enemy. Since you’ll likely freeze an enemy with your Elemental Skills, you can follow up with an attack to trigger all three very quickly. Your Receiver crystals will increase your Cryo and Elemental Burst damage, in addition to damage against Frozen enemies. These all work well given the challenge bonus, so it largely depends on your party makeup; try the challenge a couple of times, and figure out which Receiver crystals work best for your team.
For the second half, pairing Layla and Sangonomiya Kokomi allows you to pair their persistent Elemental Bursts so you’re constantly triggering the Frozen reaction. Adding Diona to this party gives you another persistent Elemental Burst, so use her here if you didn't use her in the first half. Since enemies will constantly be Frozen, it may be helpful to focus on the Coalescent and Shattering Receiver Crystals.
The final challenge is here and it's all about the Elemental Reaction Quicken. Much like the day 4 challenge: Energy Vitalization, you’ll need to apply Electro and Dendro to trigger Quicken, and in this challenge doing so will lower the affected enemy's All Elemental Resistance by 60%. Despite the similar focus on Quicken, your trial characters this time around are Dendro users Alhaitham and Yaoyao, Hydro user Yelan and Fischel, the Electro character. Since you’re only provided a single Electro user, you’ll need to bring another from your roster to have a better chance at hitting the 2000 point threshold and earning all 3 reward tiers.
Since one of your Transmitter Crystals is activated by Hyperbloom and Spread reactions, bringing along a Hydro character with persistent Elemental Skills or Bursts will give you more activation opportunities. For the first half of the challenge, Fischl and Alhaitham work well together because Fischl's Elemental Burst can quickly apply Electro to all surrounding enemies, while Alhaitham can use his Skill and Burst to trigger Quicken and wipe them all out.
For the final challenge, your Transmitter Crystals are triggered by dealing Elemental Damage, using an Elemental Skill, or by triggering a Spread or Hyperbloom reaction. This means that with the right Elemental Skill, you can activate all three Transmitters at once. Your Receiver Crystals this time will increase your character's Dendro damage, Elemental Mastery, or Damage from Normal Attacks. Which of these will benefit you most depends on your party so, as always, experiment with different pairings over a couple of challenge attempts to discover what works best for you.
For the second half, bring along an Electro character with a persistent effect, like Lisa's Burst, so you can switch back to Yaoyao and overwhelm your enemies with a bunny army. Since Yaoyao's Elemental Burst: Moonjade Descent vanishes when she swaps out, you want to keep her out to trigger Quicken while her Elemental Burst is active.
In total, there are six different challenge battles for this event, each with three tiers of rewards based on your performance. While you definitely want to shoot for the highest score tier, the best rewards - Primogems and Weapon Ascension materials - are in the first two tiers, so don't stress if you’re unable to earn the last tier. Regardless, we’ve listed the rewards below, divided by challenge and reward tier. We’ll update this table daily to include each day's rewards.
The final challenge has been unlocked, but Vibro-Crystal Verification is still live for another week, so come back if you need some tips! If you missed the Windblume's Breath, it's live until March 20, 2023 so check our guides if you need any help:
