Too early for a free 4th of July concert plan?

This weekend's the 4th of June, so it's a month away until the 4th of July

A month away from making 4th of July plans, but hopefully not too early to drop an idea.

And a community event that is a free event especially on the 4th of July is welcome, right?

Tuesday the 4th of July, the Bangor Symphony Orchestra will return to play a free concert on the Bangor waterfront before the fireworks display over the Penobscot River.

The free concert will begin with local band The Stone Doctors, in support of Chords for Cure a locally founded charity that supports Maine children fighting cancer. The Stone Doctors are a Rolling Stones cover band.

It's all free and the concert takes place at Maine Savings Amphitheater.

Doors will open at 5:30 PM. The Stone Doctors will take the stage at 6:15 PM.

At 8:30 PM the Bangor Symphony Orchestra will present a family friendly program of popular and patriotic music to celebrate our nation's birthday led by Grammy award-winning music director Lucas Richman.

When the evening concert concludes at about 9:30, you're in the perfect seat for the fireworks show.

The greater Bangor 4th of July corporation puts on a full day of activities starting with a pancake breakfast at Jeff's Catering in Brewer at 7:00 AM. Also a foot race and a parade too, from Brewer to downtown Bangor and more information can be had here.
